About Us
Our Mission
To build an inclusive, multi-feature skate park where skaters of all skill levels can learn, grow, and connect with each other, fostering a stronger community in Palo Alto.
The Story
The Greer Park Skate Park Expansion began four years ago, led by Sam Kaplinsky, then a high school sophomore. During the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional sports were canceled, and Sam discovered a passion for skateboarding. Unfortunately, Palo Alto lacked a suitable skate park, so Sam had to travel to neighboring cities to practice. There, he found an active and supportive community of skaters that inspired him to create a similar space in Palo Alto.
After gathering over 2,000 signatures and receiving approval from the Palo Alto City Council and Parks and Recreation Department, the vision for an expanded skate park is becoming a reality. Now, with your support, we can make this dream come true.

About Greer Skatepark
Palo Alto’s culturally significant Greer skatepark, built in 1990, is a renowned community asset. It was the first public skatepark on the peninsula and is important in skateboarding history. Many hold Greer Skatepark very close to their hearts. This has led to the decision not to renovate the existing bowl, but rather to build new features around it and repair the existing surface to preserve the piece of skating history we are lucky to still have.
